The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) fund, Muuni, has introduced the Smart Africa Youth Chapter in Lilongwe, aimed at empowering digital start-ups across the country.
This initiative is designed to narrow the digital divide and stimulate economic development by equipping aspiring young entrepreneurs with essential digital skills.
Through comprehensive training and mentorship programs, a vibrant community of young leaders is being cultivated, poised to foster innovation and job creation in an increasingly digital landscape.
Daud Suleman, Director General of MACRA, underscored the significance of this endeavor in reinvigorating digitalization efforts and tackling youth unemployment.
Suleman emphasized the imperative of collaborative efforts in overcoming obstacles to digital transformation, stressing the pivotal role of youth in advancing Malawi's digital agenda.
"Malawi can make strides only if we prioritize the digitalization agenda, with youths as indispensable stakeholders," remarked Suleman.
