NEC Africa, a leading pan-African ICT integrator, has forged a new partnership with IgKnight in Mauritius, marking a strategic move to expand its portfolio of solutions across the continent. The collaboration aims to introduce NEC's array of solutions, spanning communications, enterprise, retail, technology infrastructure, and safety and security, into the Mauritian market, starting with enterprise IT solutions.
The announcement of this partnership was made today, with Darsanand Balgobin, Mauritius' minister of information technology, communication, and innovation, gracing the event as the guest of honor. Highlighting the significance of this venture, John Dewar, General Manager of Enterprise Technology Solutions at NEC Africa, emphasized the importance of deploying resources on the ground and partnering with key stakeholders to drive expansion strategies.
Dewar stated, "Bringing our key product partners on board and deploying human resources on the ground are critical elements in our expansion strategy."
NEC Africa's decision to venture into Mauritius is underpinned by the island nation's status as a burgeoning financial hub, with Statista projecting a turnover of US$49.6 million in the computing market by 2024. The increasing demand for cloud computing services in Mauritius, as noted by Statista, further underscores the attractiveness of the market for technology companies.
Dewar added, "In an era marked by explosive data growth, businesses are grappling with the challenge of harnessing and leveraging technology resources for competitive advantage."
