TECNO, a globally recognised leading smartphone brand across Africa, has reaffirmed its commitment to empowering Africa’s youth through its TECNO Future Star initiative, “Empower the Pioneer.”
In a significant ceremony, TECNO awarded GH¢100,000 scholarships to 34 students from the University of Ghana’s College of Humanities. Under the Memorandum of Agreement between TECNO and the College of Humanities, this initiative aims to support talented students, particularly those pursuing STEM subjects, who face financial challenges.
Mr. Ernest Sonkor, National Channel Manager of TECNO Mobile Ghana, expressed enthusiasm for the program’s impact: “We are incredibly proud to present these scholarships to such deserving students. At TECNO, we believe in the transformative power of education to unlock Africa’s youth potential. Through the TECNO Future Star Initiative, we aim to inspire and support young college students, ensuring they have the resources to pursue their dreams and contribute to technological advancement.”
Professor Daniel Frimpong Ofori, Provost of the College of Humanities at the University of Ghana, praised TECNO’s support: “This scholarship program is a significant step in nurturing the next generation of Ghanaian scholars and innovation pioneers. The College of Humanities is proud to partner with TECNO in this endeavour, confident that these scholarships will impact the recipients’ lives.”
Mabel Ntiamoah, one of the scholarship recipients, expressed heartfelt gratitude: “This scholarship means a lot to me. It relieves my financial stress and motivates me to excel academically. I deeply thank TECNO for believing in us and investing in our future.”
Through this initiative, TECNO and the University of Ghana’s College of Humanities are collaborating to build a brighter future, empower future innovators, and contribute to Ghana’s educational and technological advancement.
